The Cretonne or also known as Kretonne is a robust plain weave base fabric. Cretonne is characterized by a matt and dull surface with a rough feel. Cretonne is usually woven from cotton yarns but is also available in linen or viscose. Cretonne is available raw, bleached, printed or dyed and is often used as a printing base.
